Iain Gardiner
Iain is the principal of Dawson & Gardiner Solicitors. He was employed at Dawson Solicitors for 18 months prior to purchasing the business and has re-branded as Dawson & Gardiner Solicitors.
Iain was previously an electrician for 15 years and during that time was a union delegate for the ETU. It was there he found his passion for standing up for people’s rights. He prides himself on being down-to-earth and approachable. His goal is to make his client’s experience as seamless and stress-free as possible.
Along with his legal qualifications, Iain also has a Bachelor of Business and has spent many years utilising his diverse skills and experiences. Iain practices in many areas of the law including family law, criminal law, conveyancing, commercial law and will preparation however he is finding great passion in estate planning, family provision claims, and probate matters and he would love to discuss your needs and how he can help you.

Huia Edwards
Huia joined Dawson & Gardiner Solicitors in 2020 to complete her Practical Legal Training whilst she completed a Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law in Sydney.
Huia has been admitted to the Roll of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and to the Register of the High Court of Australia. Huia has also completed a Bachelor of Aboriginal Professional Practice and is a keen advocate for Indigenous affairs.
With 21 years of experience in retail management, team building, recruitment and training, Huia also has strong business acumen in the retail sector.
Huia is a good listener, is quite empathetic and has strong family values which go hand in hand with her interests in Family Law, Wills, Estates, Criminal Law and Traffic matters.

Jamie Pouwhare
Jamie Pouwhare joined Dawson & Gardiner Solicitors in 2021 and was admitted to the Roll of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2016.
After working in pharmacy for many years, Jamie completed a Bachelor of Law and Commerce as well as a Diploma of Legal Practice in 2015. Jamie believes that it is rewarding to help people with major decisions in their lives, whether that is purchasing their first home, drafting wills, dealing with probate, or entering significant commercial transactions.
Jamie also enjoys the personal aspect of commercial law and helping her clients to understand their rights and giving them the ability to have confidence in their decisions.
Jamie enjoys working and is grateful to have the opportunity to build a career in her hometown of Newcastle. Outside of work, Jamie loves travelling, keeping fit and active and spending time with her family and friends.
