Wills, Enduring Power of Attorney & Guardianship
Given the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, and the social distancing rules, we are taking guidance from the NSW legislation; COVID-19 Legislation Amendment (Emergency Measures) Bill 2020 [NSW] passed on 24 March 2020 and the Law Society of NSW.
If you realise you need to have a Will made or you need to update your Will we urge you to contact our office as soon as possible and we will guide you through the different legal processes that have been put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic to make sure it is valid.
Your Will is a very important document that ensures your wishes are carried out by your nominated executor/executrix when you pass away.
Enduring Power of Attorney
A Power Of Attorney (POA) lets you appoint a person or persons, to act for you regarding your financial matters.
Your Power Of Attorney can manage your assets and finances if you are unable to do so. This can include signing documents, paying your bills, operating your bank accounts and making inquiries on your behalf.
An Enduring Guardian is a person or persons you appoint to assist you regarding decisions about your lifestyle, including medical and dental treatment, where you live, if you need to go into a nursing home and what healthcare services you receive.
